Worst Eviction Crisis in History Looming, Tenants Want and Need Action

TENAC has completed two in a series of five forums on the 2020 General Election: our Candidates Forum for Federal races, (comprising the DC Delegate to Congress, and the Shadow Senate and House seats), and the At-Large Candidates Forum (Part 1). (With a field of 24 At-large candidates, we divided the At-Large Forum into 2 segments, to allow adequate time for the candidates to make their positions known.) Special emphasis was put on the potential mass evictions crisis looming, an issue more vital to tenants than any in decades, perhaps ever.

You can view videos of the forums in the link below.  We ask you to kindly share the forum video with fellow tenants and others.  A copy of all forum videos will also soon be available on our website, www.tenacdc.org. We hope the videos will help you in making your voting decision.

We are holding five forums over five nights. All candidates will be asked about solutions to the affordable housing crisis and the problems tenants face that began long before the pandemic, now only to increase many fold because of it. Board of Education candidates on Monday, Oct. 12 will be asked their positions on charter schools, school funding, testing standards, how to improve public schools, and what their plans are to help schools cope with the pandemic.  With your participation, we can all keep as well informed as possible on all aspects of the issues important to tenants and the future of education in the District.
